What is it about food in the Fall that is so fun?! For Lindsay and I, as soon as there is a slight change in the air, we start thinking and planning what “Fall foods” we are going to be enjoying! No matter how many items are on that list, one that is at the top is Mamaw’s applesauce. Brought to you from the kitchen of Lindsay’s grandmother, this nostaligic recipe is packed full of wonderful flavors that are all about Fall. Serve it warm or cold and your taste buds will thank you! Happy eating!
- 12 large apples (use a variety of granny smith, golden delicious and gala), peeled and coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- In large pot over medium heat, add all ingredients together.
- Stirring often, cook for about 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
- Serve warm or cold.
Enjoy! XO, Carrie
