Historic Main Street is more than just a street here in Franklin. It is a place where life just slows down a bit and people greet one another. You will see tourists walking around and taking in the small town feel, hear the church bells ringing, families and friends enjoying time outside, people sitting eating Kilwin’s or sipping on Starbucks, musicians playing outside shops, and at this time of year the beautiful Christmas lights on the light posts lining the streets. It is just a magical street with such beauty and history.
This coming Saturday is Small Business Saturday. In celebration of Small Business Saturday we thought this was a fabulous way to highlight some of B. Perdy’s personal favorite shops on Main Street. The amazing Natalie Mathews said this is an area she likes to go shopping as well as eat. Here is a list of some of B. Perdy’s favorites and what we love in these stores…
I love Haylee B. for it constantly changing merchandise which happens to come in every few days, friendly staff, and great items for women at an amazing price! This week I found an amazing winter white chunky sweater for $39! I feel like there are not many places I can find great clothing at a reasonable price. In celebration of Small Business Saturday they will have items 15% off which makes it even better!
I have found some of my favorite stylish winter coats from here, dresses, jewelry and leggings. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you find items you are looking for. This store really separates itself apart and you can feel it in the air when you go in. This great business was built around giving back. It is a great feeling as you shop knowing a percentage of your sale is going back to a good cause.
They moved to a larger location this summer and now have room for even more great hats, sunglasses, and clothing. They will decorate their store in celebration of Small Business Saturday and will have adorable canvas bags to celebrate too.
The Heirloom Shop
This cute shop has great seasonal items to add to your décor for the holidays! This is also where I have gone to add pieces to my Dickens Village collection.
They have a fabulous staff! I love going into browse even when I’m not on the hunt for anything specific. They have just about anything gift wise for any age. I have gotten some fabulous baby gifts from here too. Other items I love here are the kitchen décor, coasters, candles, and adorable pet accessories too.
The Shoppes On Main
When we spoke with Elizabeth Sweatt she mentioned this was one of her favorite shops and she definitely isn’t alone! I love the card selection and variety of items here. I can easily find gifts or something for myself here.
This is the best place in Downtown Franklin to find Patagonia, North Face, Southern Point, Uggs, and more! They always have a great selection. When speaking with Natalie Mathews she mentioned getting her niece some precious some pink baby UGGs here. You can buy something for each member of the family here!
Relax and go see a great movie at the historic Franklin Theatre which opened in 1937 and still around in 2016 doing better than ever! This theatre has welcomed musicians in its past too such as Sheryl Crow, Pam Tillis, Jars of Clay, Wynonna, Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, Michael W. Smith, and that is just to name a few.
Savory Spice Shop
Go grab all the spices you need for your holiday cooking and baking here! Anything you need they will have and for those looking for a great gifts for someone who loves the kitchen stop here. They have great gift sets as well as cooking products.
This cute store is connected between two fabulous places to eat. You hear the wonderful sounds of people enjoying the company of others while you shop. I have always found great clothing items here at a reasonable price as well as accessories. Right now they have some great fleece leggings and blanket scarves too which would be great gifts.
There are so many great places to shop on Main Street but also eat. To name some of my favorite places to eat on Main Street they are Cork and Cow, 55 South, Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, Merridees Breadbasket, Puckett’s Grocery, Mellow Mushroom and more! Each one of these places is great in its own way and this is just naming a few things to do on Historic Main Street. So go support small businesses on Saturday and show them some love. I’m sure you will find some great gifts and get some names crossed off your holiday list!
