For The Home

Cozy and Cute

Oh I just love this time of year. The weather, clothes, boots and scarves and ALL the shops putting up their best for the holidays! I love browsing in stores, shopping for gifts, and getting ideas for decorating. When my kids were in Mother’s Day Out programs I would visit The Perfect Setting in Grassland on a weekly basis but now it is more like once a month or every couple months. A few weeks ago Elizabeth Sweat, the Little School Director, mentioned that The Perfect Setting was one of her favorite shops when we were speaking and it definitely gave me the itch to so see what the cozy and quaint shop had. I got to spend a little time in there this week and was greeted as always by the friendly staff. They have their beautiful Christmas trees up for their upcoming Holiday Open House so it felt so warm and inviting!

Before I had even walked in the door two lanterns caught my attention! These simple yet amazing rounded lanterns sitting out front were beautiful and would be even more amazing with some added texture inside. They would look great with cotton, moss or berries and add a remote control battery operated candle and just like that you would have a statement piece.  Once inside they had three Christmas trees up in the entry area of the store with different themes. They had one tree with beautiful cotton stems and the cotton was a great price! The short stems were about $6 and longer stems were around $10. These always get snatched up before wedding season so grab them when you see them. There was a centralized table in the entry with some cute Christmas items. They had some trays in this area too that could transition from season to season. There were several angel and manger paintings with a very sweet nativity set with gold tones. I love gold! This nativity was one of my favorites that they had out. At the top of the tiered table there were two different size pairs of ice skates. These would be so cute with berries in them, magnolia leaves or simply by themselves. They were very fun especially if you have a future ice skater in your home! I have a thing for ice skates since I dabbled in ice skating when I was much younger and have so many great memories from it. Another winter décor item that caught my eye while strolling thru the shop was a mirrored tray with three canisters in different sizes. I was very tempted to buy these! These would be cute on a large coffee table, sitting on built-in shelves, in the kitchen or you could just buy one and have it sitting with a collection of other items.  On the back wall they had their great selection of Tyler Company Candles. Elizabeth Sweat recommended the Orange Vanilla scent she said it was one of her favorites. The Perfect Setting also had some great ribbon for trees or garland, cute ornaments which I did purchase a few myself, and many gift ideas.

I can’t wait to start pulling out my Christmas décor to start transforming my home to a winter wonderland. As you start thinking about gifts and decorating definitely go see the ladies at The Perfect Setting this Sunday between 1pm-5pm for their Holiday Open House! They will have giveaways, deals, and treats! If you find any gifts for the holidays too they gift wrap for free too which is always a plus.

Blessings,

Lindsay
